Helping the Elderly Protect Their Homes!

Protecting your home or elderly parents’ home from home invasions

old-people-616718_1920

Gated communities are great with all of their club houses filled with activities and the convenience of no longer needing to cut your lawn or shovel snow in the winter but… how protected is your home in a gated community? What stops someone from getting into your gated community home?

Most of these communities here in NJ are gated at the entrances and around them are decorative fencing, if they have any at all. What would truly stop someone from just parking somewhere near by and walking right in and finding a way to break into and over power someone in one of these homes? Unfortunately, this past week in Lakewood, NJ this is what seems to be the case, an elderly couple at 55+ The Enclave were beaten, tied up with duct tape, and robbed.

Installing security cameras in the homes of your elderly parents and/or grandparents to be able to check in on them is starting to sound like a great idea now, isn’t it? Not only can these security cameras protect your elderly loved ones from intruders, but they reek the benefits of much more than just that. We all think of security cameras to keep our homes safe from intruders or to watch our children at home with the babysitters/nannies, but have you ever thought of how they protect the elderly as well? By installing cameras in the homes of your elderly parents and/or grandparents, you will be able to check in and SEE them and know what they are actually up to. Do you worry about your elderly loved ones when you are not physically with them? Not only will having security cameras give you that peace of mind knowing what your parents or grandparents are doing, but it can also be lifesaving for the elderly! With security cameras placed in the interior of the home, you can watch mom in the kitchen cooking and keep checking in that she is still safe around the stove. You can check in on the camera located by the steps and be sure dad did not fall as he has become more unstable in his walking. Everyone needs the added home security no matter the age of the home owners, however, with the advance in todays technologies, there are added safety bonus for our elderly loved ones to think about.

KEEP AN EYE ON YOUR LOVED ONES

Would you like to keep a watchful eye on mom or dad to know they are safe? Home security cameras installed in a few key spots in the home can help you make sure mom or dad are protected and safe in their home. Have you been thinking of having a home health aide come to the home, but you are unsure of the treatment your loved one will get from them? We can set up nanny cams in their home, so you can be sure your loved ones are being treated the way they should be. With today’s technology, the possibilities are endless.

How safe is your car? Protect your vehicles with a home security system!

Over the past few years car burglaries have decreased, but we have seen a fair amount of them in 2018. Theft from parked cars is one of the most common complaints received by police in residential neighborhoods. According to the U.S. Department of Justice statistics, these types of crimes make up 36 percent of all larcenies reported to the police. Thefts from vehicles usually involve small dollar values in terms of the property that is stolen, but they also take up considerable police resources and increase residents’ fear of crime. Having security cameras on your home is often the number one deterrent in stopping a burglar. If you want to find out how secure your home is, give Central Jersey Security Cameras a call. We can help you to decide what security system is best to fit your security needs or we can fill you in on how to improve your existing security.

Stolen cars create an inconvenience, generate higher insurance costs, and financial losses for car owners as well as the risks to the safety of police officers and other motorists from stolen vehicle pursuits.

Cars are generally stolen for one of three purposes:

  1. For temporary transportation, such as use in another crime or for “joyriding”
  2. To strip the car of its valuable parts for resale
  3. To re-sell it, often disguised as a legitimate car

Where and when cars are parked are probably the most significant factors that offer opportunity to thieves. Cars are typically safer in driveways rather than parked on streets, but this will depend to some extent on the length of the driveway, shrubbery, lighting, and other factors that affect natural surveillance. Most car thefts occur on the street outside the victim’s home. A car parked on the street is much more likely to be targeted by criminals than a car parked in a driveway. Vehicles are safer in a garage, more at risk in a driveway, and much more at risk on the street.

Because suburban residential areas are relatively quiet and safe, residents can become unconcerned about car security. They may leave their car doors unlocked or leave their keys in the ignition. Unsecured cars, cars with valuables left in plain view, poor house and street lighting and vegetation or other features that provide concealment for thieves are commonplace. Oftentimes, their homes’ exterior lighting is wholly inadequate. Tall shrubbery and other brush on the premises can provide thieves with cover. An entire neighborhood filled with unlocked cars and poorly lit homes, with plenty of places to hide, is an inviting scene for a thief. Residential subdivisions surrounded by rural lands and that are not served by public transportation are less likely to suffer from car crime. Thieves would have to travel to the location, and then walk around in an unfamiliar neighborhood where they are more likely to appear out of place and attract suspicion. These areas often have no sidewalks, so pedestrian traffic in general draws attention. Probably the most effective response for car owners is not to park their cars in the open streets or driveways. Of course, many car owners, especially in more densely populated residential areas, are forced to park on the streets because they do not have garages or driveways. The capacity to prevent theft of cars and their components is limited, especially when cars are parked on the street where they are easily accessible at any time of the day.

Thefts of and from cars in suburban residential areas generally occur at night. This is because it is the time most cars are present, as well as the fact that the darkness provides cover for the thieves. In residential areas that contain multi-family apartment complexes, parking lots can be vulnerable to thefts during the day because there are so many people using the lots, thus providing anonymity to the offender. Some special events that draw large numbers of vehicles to an area also generate high volumes of thefts from cars.

Frequently, thefts from cars occur in clusters. Numerous burglaries may be reported during the early morning hours when thieves have already passed through a neighborhood looking for property to steal. In general, two kinds of property are stolen: personal items and car components. Personal items that owners may leave in their cars include loose change, laptop computers, portable music players, and wallets or pocket books. Personal valuables inside the passenger compartment accounted for 35 percent of items stolen, while stereo components made up 27 percent of the stolen items. Compact discs as well as car stereo parts and accessories can easily be traded for cash at second hand music stores or pawnshops. These items can also be difficult to trace. Few owners take the time to record the serial numbers of after-market stereo components.

In general, older model cars are more often stolen than more recent models because fewer of them contain built-in anti-theft devices. However, newer models may be targeted for theft if they contain expensive components that are in great demand. Each year, $1.255 billion in personal items and accessories are stolen from vehicles in about 1.85 million thefts; and for every theft, experts estimate, there are several break-ins and attempted break-ins. With these tips and preventative measures, you can greatly reduce the chances your vehicle will become a target.

10 tips to help protect your vehicles from burglary:

  1. Lock your doors, roll up your windows. Thieves often look for unlocked cars, as well as sheds and garage doors that are left open. While this piece of advice should be a no-brainer, up to a quarter of vehicle thefts are from unlocked cars. Even if you’re running into the store for a Coke, that’s too long to leave your vehicle’s contents open for the taking. Simply locking the doors will deter those who might just be waiting around for an easy target. Close your windows and sunroofs.
  2. Take your valuables. Don’t leave your valuables in the vehicle, or in plain sight. Make sure you take out your phones, pocketbooks, purses, and even your change. In today’s day and age, change has been something taken out of cars more often than you would think. Don’t leave any bait out for thieves; stow your electronics and accessories well out of sight, or better yet, bring it with you. The evidence alone might be enough to pique the interest of theieves, so hide that too, including power plugs, telltale iPod adapters, or nav-system windshield suction cup mounts, and even put the cigarette lighter back in place.
  3. Hide your things. Stash before, not after you park. Get in the habit of putting shopping bags in the trunk right when you return to the vehicle, rather than after you park at the next place. Thieves sometimes linger in busy parking lots looking for valuables being moved out of sight. Don’t display to them what you have. Almost any worthless personal item that’s visible from the outside – even an empty shopping bag – could be seen as a valuable or a carrier of valuables. If you have a wagon or SUV that leaves your cargo area on display, consider getting a cover. Most of these vehicles can be fitted with inexpensive retractable covers to help keep shopping bags or belongings out of sight.
  4. Turn off your car. Yes, this seems like a no brainer, but all too often we see cars left running in front of our local convenience stores, such as wawa or even in our neighbor’s driveway. It is almost like your car is there saying “take me, I’m already running and the keys are in here”.
  5. Never leave the keys. Years ago, a close family friend made a joke about when you are out, you never leave the person that has the keys so you always know you have a ride home. This is true in so many ways. Make sure you keep your keys with you for the simple fact that they often have more then just your car keys on there. They often have your house key on them as well. So, by leaving your keys behind, not only are your saying “hey, take my car” but now you are also saying, “hey, why not stop by my home and help yourself there too”.
  6. Park in secure and visible areas. ALWAYS ALWAYS ALWAYS, park your car in a well lit area! Parking in a secure area does not only protect your belongings, but can also protect you and your family from the dangers that may be lurking. Avoid concealment from larger vehicles, fences, or foliage. Except for the most brazen thieves, the greater that chances are that someone might see a crime in progress, the lower the chances are that potential thief will attempt it.
  7. Car alarms. If you have a car alarm, don’t forget to activate it. It’s as simple as that. And don’t forget if you are in the parking lot and feel you can be in danger, hit that car alarm button. Often the alarm will scare away the would be attackers.
  8. Get a vehicle locator. For stolen vehicles, consider having some type of vehicle locator installed.
  9. Report anything suspicious. Better safe then sorry! If you see something suspicious, REPORT IT!
  10. Add home security cameras. For your home, consider adding surveillance cameras that can capture any car thefts or burglaries on film and help find the thieves and get them off our streets.

Unfortunately, in many densely populated areas, thefts from cars go uninvestigated if there is no information from the victim as to the identity of the perpetrator. The fact that streets and the driveways attached to them are accessible to everyone makes cars very vulnerable. This is when having a surveillance camera system can benefit you. Not only are security cameras a deterrent to burglars, but they can also help you to identify the perpetrator. Central Jersey Security Cameras motto is “get them before they get you”. Do just that by having a surveillance camera system installed on your home.

Many of our New Jersey business and home owners are installing surveillance systems with line crossing detection. With security cameras placed at your home, you can see everything that’s going on in and around your home right in the palm of your hand. Never miss a beat, you can have the line intrusion alerts sent right to your phone.

crossing-the-line

WHAT IS LINE CROSSING DETECTION?
Line crossing detection, or intrusion detection, is a function of your DVR, NVR or IP camera. What it does is that it instantly detects any motion in a certain “set”, which is a set area that is personally set by you for your alert needs. It will send immediate alerts to your smart device directly from the DVR, NVR  or IP camera. For example, you want to know when someone or something enters your driveway? So, you go into the software of your DVR, NVR or IP camera and start setting up specific areas by drawing lines across the driveway. Of course, these are not visible lines to the human eye since it is only a virtual line or perimeter you have created, but it acts just as good as a virtual tripwire. In essence, what it will do is activate the area when the area or line is breached and send you a notification either directly through the app or to your email, whichever option you choose. You can even have audible alerts right on site through an external siren or right from the DVR or NVR.
You can set this to work on schedules, certain hours during the day, certain days during the week or if you are on vacation and will be away from your home or business and you want to be alerted when someone or something breaches your “set” area or areas. While both High Definition and IP cameras or the use of an NVR in conjunction with IP cameras will both do the job, there is more flexibility with the NVR and IP cameras in terms of having multiple cameras set up for line crossing/intrusion detection. There are also sensitivity settings that do adjust to meet your needs. For example, you may not want to know when a cat or small animal crosses the line, so you would adjust the scale to measure for larger objects.

Having security cameras installed on your home is often the number one deterrent in stopping a burglar.  A home that is well lit with home security camera signs prominently posted will often be passed by because no burglar wants to be caught on security surveillance. With the advances in today’s home security cameras, often the local authorities can identify or get a good look at who is committing crimes in an area by going to the home owners and retrieving the footage from their home security cameras. Today’s security cameras can send you an alert right to your phone and notify you when someone is somewhere they are not supposed to be just by having the line crossing detection perimeters set up around your home. If you want to find out how secure your home is, give Central Jersey Security Cameras a call today for a free on-site estimate. Just like all other seasons, make sure to lock your doors when you leave the home, check that your cameras and alarms are working properly and make sure your home looks occupied if you leave for an extended period of time. Homes that add an alarm system to their home with security cameras are four times less likely to be victimized. Double up on your home security as well as your security at your place of business!

Businesses without alarms are 4.5 times more likely to be burglarized than those that have an alarm system. They are also four times as likely to be burglarized as homes. Your business is a much more tempting target to burglars than your home. But, burglars don’t like getting caught. Eight in ten convicted burglars said they would look for a security camera or an alarm before attempting a burglary. If they found an on-site surveillance system, 60% said they would seek an alternative target.

Here are a couple quick tips that can help reduce burglary at your place of business or home:

  • Clear your entrances and windows of trees and shrubs that block views from the street and/or provide a hiding place for thieves
  • Secure your doors with sturdy deadbolt locks or padlocks
  • Install bars or gates on windows to help prevent them being broken and used as an entry
  • Motion sensor-activated lighting and alarms can also help deter burglars

UTC-Products-Hero-UltraSync_hub_phone

Today’s alarm systems are more than just a loud shrieking noise when they go off. All of our alarms are either connected to Central Station Monitoring or are set up to send alerts directly to your smart device, or you can even set it up to do both. Having your alarm connected with Central Station Monitoring will alert the proper authorities when the alarm is triggered. There’s no such thing as too much security!
With advances in alarms this past year with the launch of the new Ultra Sync alarm home automation system, you can now not only be alerted when someone is at your home and place of business, but right from the palm of your hand, you can use your smartphone to do much more! Just to name a few key features you can use right from your smartphone:
• You can turn your lights on and off at your home or place of business.
• You can lock and unlock your doors.
• You can control your thermostat.

According to the FBI, there’s a burglary every 12 seconds. Those thefts annually combine for more than $3.1 billion in property and personal loss. So how do burglars get into your business? Six of ten burglaries involve forcible entry, about a third of those were unlawful entries. The rest, a little over six percent, were attempted forcible entries. The primary ways in which they gained access were through open windows or doors or by forcible entry through windows or doors. Only about one in eight burglars reported picking locks or using a key they had previously acquired. Not surprisingly, most commercial burglaries occur at night, weekends or holidays when many businesses aren’t open. What’s more enticing to a burglar than nobody being there to stop them?

Unfortunately, not all dangers to your business come from the outside. 64% of all small businesses fall victim to one of the biggest threats, employee theft and fraud. While some and hopefully most of the theft being minor office supplies, that isn’t always the case. Majority of losses that come from employee theft are cash losses, with $20,000 being the average lost. That’s not something a business owner should have to worry about while they aren’t present. Have security cameras installed pointing at the register, this way you can see the cash as it is being handled and know it is going to the proper location and not your employees pockets. Security equipment such as locks, video intercoms, access control and security cameras can help act as barriers or even a deterrent to crime. With the use of personalized ID’s and key fobs, it makes it nearly impossible to enter the vicinity of your office space without proper clearance. With summer now in full swing, it’s time to think of your home security.

IMG_9595

With summer now in full swing, it is time to think of your home security. Are your kids home for the summer? Are they old enough to be left at home alone, but you still worry they are safe? Do you have a summer vacation planned or even a stay-cation where you are going to take a few day trips and be away from home? Are you just a busy New Jersey family with your family booked up with summer sporting events? If you answered yes to one or more of those questions, then it is time to think about your home security.

We have all taught our kids to never open the door for a stranger. However, as adults most of us do not take those same safety precautions before answering the door. In today’s society, you can’t trust that the person on the other side of the door is a friendly visitor. Of course, we all want to go to the door and just answer it to see who is there, but today you have to be smart and think back to telling your children why they can’t just whip the door open, you just don’t know who is there or what their intentions are.

Here are a few home security tips for today’s busy families:
• Use a security camera to see who is at the door. Make the camera visible. A camera could deter someone with devious intentions. The camera itself will allow you to see who is at the door.
• You may want to consider having an alarm installed and have your key fob in your hand when you decide to answer the door. If the person at the door makes you feel you are in danger you can hit your panic button to dispatch the police.
• Interact with the visitor using an intercom. This is an effective and affordable way to talk with a stranger without actually answering the door.
• Trust your instincts, your instincts are often right so, if your gut is telling you that something is wrong, then don’t open the door!!

The advances in today’s home security systems have now reached a new level and have become even more user friendly to today’s busy families. The UltraSync alarm now provides complete home protection from the inside out. The system easily incorporates additional security and home safety devices for extra peace of mind so you can now check on the following all through live-streaming video via UltraSync indoor/outdoor cameras or with text alerts:
• Make sure the kids got home on time.
• Check in on contractors.
• See how your pets are behaving.

Come Home to Comfort: Your home can be ready for you at just the right time by automatically adjusting:

il_570xN.1442268779_op3s
• Thermostats – Adjust your home to the temperature that satisfies you. In the summer, turn down the air conditioning to get it nice and cool before you even step into the home. In the winter, turn the heat up to make it toasty and warm inside for you after that chilly walk from the car.
• Turning on lights – Nobody likes to walk into a dark home. Be prepared for the unexpected day trips that turn into all day affairs. You can have the lights turned on before you even step foot into your home, but the advantage of that is to also make it look like you are home even when you are not to deter a potential burglar.
• Unlocking doors as you arrive (Using the geo-location technology in your UltraSync system paired with your smartphone’s GPS.) – Long trips to the grocery store sometimes means you don’t have a free hand to unlock the door with your keys as you are carrying in all those bags.

Spring is Coming

Seems like this weekend spring will finally show its face around central New Jersey. The days are getting longer, and everyone seems to start to come outside after the long winter. Everyone is making spring home improvement plans to get their homes ready for summer. One thing we love to do at our home each year is to start planting flowers and shrubs around our property. However, after working for a security company for many years, I know to think twice before I plant anything around my home. Working for Central Jersey Security Cameras over these years has taught me a thing or two about home security and keeping my family safe. Don’t get me wrong I love planting each spring and do add a shrub or two to my home each year, I just now choose where I plant my additions more wisely. I have a home security system on my home with security cameras throughout the perimeter of my home and now when I plant I take into consideration and ask myself “will the shrub I plant ever block my camera’s views as it grows?” I also think about the shrubs and the effect it will have on the lighting around my house. As these shrubs grow, will it affect the lighting around my home and give my yard dark spots that can make it easier for a would-be intruder to come up to my home? Keeping my family and home safe is a priority for me. I run alarm tests on my home alarm system monthly and I make sure my security cameras always have clear views of my home and the surrounding areas. Making sure your equipment is working properly and making sure you do not add shrubs to an area that will block your camera’s views are just a few quick ways that I help keep my family and home safe.

Here are some spring home safety tips:

• Keep your home lit: Even with it staying brighter longer in the spring it is still important to keep your home lit up so a person lurking around our home can be seen.
• Lock your doors: Ensure all your door and window locks around the home are working and are not loose. When you’re out of the house, increase your privacy and security by closing blinds and curtains. This can help deter criminals from looking in your house and coveting your things.
• Test your smoke and carbon monoxide detectors: Replace any batteries that are dead. If your units are more than 10 years old, it is time to replace them! It’s also a great time to test your alarm system if you have one. There are 5 simple steps which can be found
• Spring can get hot: If you are putting in window air conditioning units this spring, make sure you stabilize and secure the units so that they cannot easily be taken out by a criminal or fall out on their own inviting criminals to your home. If you have central air and cooling, have your system serviced before you begin to use it.

Do you have small children that live in your home? How about elderly parents or grandparents?
With spring comes warmer weather. With warmer weather, the desire to be outside increases. With that being said, you’d naturally want to keep an eye on your elderly loved ones while they sit outside drinking their coffee reading the newspaper. Maybe they even have a green thumb of their own and are out planting in the yard. Sure, you’d love to be there and see for yourself, but unfortunately, you cannot be everywhere all the time. With security cameras placed at your elderly loved one’s home or in your home, you can see everything that’s going on in and around the home right in the palm of your hand.
Not only will security cameras help you keep an eye on the older generation, you may also need to know when the kids get home from school, so you would set up a virtual intrusion area at your front door. For your older children that don’t need a sitter, the bus rolls in to drop them off while you’re still at work. Sure, they’re going to want to play outside on their own and you’re going to want to make sure they don’t stray out of the yard and keep an eye on them. Make sure they’re not getting themselves into trouble by having line intrusion alerts sent right to your phone.

Homes that add an alarm system to their home with security cameras are four times less likely to be victimized. Double up on your home security. Today’s home alarms are more than just a loud shrieking noise when they go off! All of our alarms are either connected to Central Station Monitoring or are set up to send alerts directly to your smart device or you can set it up to do both. Having your alarm connected with Central Station Monitoring will alert the proper authorities when the alarm is triggered. There’s no such thing as too much security!
With advances in alarms this past year with the launch of the new Ultra-sync alarm home automation system, you can now not only be alerted when someone is at your home but right from the palm of your hand, you can use your smartphone to do much more! Just to name a few key features you can use right from your smartphone:
• You can turn your lights on and off at your home.
• You can lock and unlock your doors.
• You can control your thermostat.
Spring is also that time of year where the weather goes from hot to cold, cold to hot. Being able to control your thermostat from your phone is super convenient! Now you’ll have your home set to the right temperature while we battle the weather, not knowing if we need our home to be warmer on the cool days or cooler on the warm days.

SPRING CLEANING

It’s that time of year some of us love and some of us dread. Spring cleaning! While you are doing your spring cleaning in and around your home, this is also an appropriate time to check the batteries in all your detectors and make sure there are no excessive amounts of dust in your detectors. This is also an appropriate time to check with your security company to make sure everything is up and running properly. It is important to be aware of the dangers that follow a faulty detector. As the warm weather creeps up on us we tend to forget to make sure we are safe! In the event of an emergency, you want to be ready for the worst with the best plan in mind starting with the swift notification from an alarm or detector.

GOODBYE 2017, HELLO 2018!

images

2017 was a busy and exciting year for Central Jersey Security Cameras! We were ranked #36 in the fastest growing security companies by Security Dealer and Integrator magazine which is a national magazine! We have grown so much that we have moved into a much larger building in July located at 620 Rt. 9 South, Freehold, New Jersey. Our staff has continued to grow right alongside the growth of the company. This summer, we even hired our first summer intern. With our continued growth, we also continue with all the training for our technicians to be knowledgable in the latest and up to date technology to best serve our valued customers. Owner Bob Murphy received an award earlier this year from LTSecurity for being the largest buyer in the U.S. LTSecurity is one of the leading distributors of surveillance technology. LTSecurity has 13 branches located throughout the U.S. Central Jersey Security Cameras also took part in various charity events such as the Trunk or Treat hosted by PAL as well as donate to the SPCA in February as well as during the hurricane relief just to name a few. As this year comes to a close, Central Jersey Security Cameras owner Robert Murphy would like to thank everyone that has made 2017 such a successful year.

With this year coming to an end and the new year among us, how many of you are going out with your friends and family to ring in the new year? Are you worried about leaving your home for the night? Don’t be! Have security cameras and an alarm installed in and around your home and always be aware of what is going on in and around your home, even when you are not. Are you getting in that last minute shopping preparing for the new year? Whether it be that you’re hitting the grocery store to get those hors d’oeuvres and finger food snacks, or the liquor store for that bottle of champagne, or even the party store for those finishing touches on your decorations and party favors, know that your home is safe and secure! Listed below are some tips to follow this New Years Eve.

TOP 5 TIPS to keep your home safe this New Years Eve while you are out watching the ball drop and ringing in the new year!
1. Lock your doors and windows before you go.
2. Make sure your home is well lit when it gets dark out.
3. Don’t post on social media that you are not home (it’s an invitation to burglars to come on in!)
4. Check your security cameras to make sure they are on.
5. Don’t forget to turn on your alarm.

With today’s security cameras, you can check on your home at any time right from the palm of your hand! Get those crisp, clear pictures right on your smart phone when you have remote views set up with your cameras. Another advantage to security cameras with remote views is that you can be out and away from your home, but still be alerted by your smart phone by setting alerts to notify you when someone steps within a perimeter you set on your property on your cameras.

With advances in alarms this past year with the launch of the new Ultra-sync alarm home automation system, you can now not only be alerted when someone is at your home, but right from the palm of your hand, you can use your smart phone to do much more! Just to name a few key features you can use right from your smart phone:
• You can turn your lights on and off at your home.
• You can lock and unlock your doors.
• You can control your thermostat.

Burglars often look for homes that are easy hits. Most of the items burglars look for, such as jewelry, electronics, gold, silver, and guns are easy to sell at a pawn shop, which makes them more appealing to a burglar. If you do not have your home secure with a home security system, the odds are not in your favor. It is a known national statistic that a home is broken into every 15 seconds!

WALKING INTO YOUR DARK HOME, MAKE IT LOOK LIKE YOU ARE HOME EVEN WHEN YOU ARE OUT AND ABOUT.
Are you uncomfortable walking into your dark home when you return home from your night out? Adding an Ultra-Sync alarm to your home can now give you control over your lights at home. From the palm of your hand, you can now have complete home automation with the ease of your smart phone. You can turn lights off and on with the tap of your finger. Ultra-Sync can even schedule the lights to turn on at a specific time of day. When you aren’t home, make it look like you are home. You are also able to control your heat while you are away with this alarm system! With all the advances in alarms this past year with the launch of the new Ultra-Sync alarm home automation, you can now not only be alerted when someone is at your home, but you have access to using all these features that make your life more convenient away from home. You can even lock and unlock your doors without digging for those keys in your pocket. Take advantage of the key features our ultra-sync has to offer. LEAVING THE CHILDREN WITH A BABY SITTER TO RING IN THE NEW YEAR?
Are you leaving your children with a baby sitter while you go out to watch the ball drop and ring in the new year? Your children are precious to you. Know that they are being taken care of and treated the way that you wish. You can do that by having security cameras installed, whether they are installed in plain sight or hidden. Do you miss them while you’re away from home? Take a look at them via your cameras. We have an app where you can see them remotely right on your phone. Are your kids old enough to not need a sitter and are able to stay home alone? Do you want to know if your kids have invited their friends over while you are out for the night? Check in and make sure they’re not having a little party of their own thinking they’re sneaky and you’ll never catch them. Make sure they’re not getting themselves into trouble by having line intrusion alerts sent right to your phone.

WHAT IS LINE CROSSING DETECTION?
Line crossing detection, or intrusion detection, is a function of your DVR, NVR or IP camera. What it does is that it instantly detects any motion in a certain “set”, which is a set area that is personally set by you for your alert needs. You can even have audible alerts right on site through an external siren or right from the DVR or NVR.

Many families in New Jersey try to keep their loved ones safe in the home with them, but unfortunately you cannot be everywhere all the time. With security cameras placed at your home, you can see everything that’s going on in and around the home. Would you like to know every time a door is opened in the home? Would you want to know about every time someone enters or exits the home? Take advantage of the intrusion detection features that all our Central Jersey Security Cameras systems come with. Set up a virtual intrusion area at your front door. For example: you may not want to know when a cat or small animal crosses the line, so you would adjust the scale to measure for larger objects.

Not only can Central Jersey Security Cameras provide cameras with line crossing detection, we can also put cameras inside the home in areas you may need to watch. With today’s technology, the possibilities are endless.

Here at Central Jersey Security Cameras we offer instructional videos to walk you through the entire process on setting up your security system to send you the alerts when areas are breached, or lines are crossed. You must remember to allow notifications on your smart device if you are being notified through the app or “surveillance center” as it is called on the software setup.

Just like all other seasons, make sure to lock your doors when you leave the home. Check that your cameras and that your alarm is working properly and make sure to leave your home looking occupied if you leave for an extended period of time. With the upcoming holidays you spend away from home with family and friends, know your home is safe. Don’t let the fear of your home’s safety stop you from doing the things you love. Know that you can enjoy that glass of champagne while you’re counting down the new year.. Don’t let a burglar take that peace of mind and holiday joy away from you. The peace of mind while you are away from home, knowing that your home is protected from unwanted guests while you are away, is priceless. Get yourself and your family protected. Summer Vacation Security Importance

This is the time of the year is when many New Jersey families think of going on summer vacations. This is also the time of the year many NJ beach town hotel / resort owners in Sea Side Heights, Sea Side park, Belmar, Spring Lake, Wildwood, Wildwood Crest, Ocean City, Cape May, Sea Girt, Avon by the Sea, Bradley Beach all start to gear up for the busy summer season. With only 39 days until the unofficial start to the summer season in NJ Memorial Day weekend is right around the corner. How ready are your hotel / resort security surveillance systems?

The Importance of Having Hotel / Resort Security Cameras: for the Hotel / Resort Owner and Hospitality Staff

Hotels/Resorts are huge places, and have many areas that have potential for a customer to injure themselves due to their own careless mistake. Hotel-goers could even become injured because a staff member neglected to do their job, and didn’t maintain an area. Security surveillance will help prove who or what may be at fault, and help protect your hotel/ resort investment. Below, you will find a few more of the most common reasons why security cameras are needed in hotel/ resorts:

-Slip and Fall Claims-

In a perfect world we would like to believe everyone will tell the truth and not be dishonest however, not everyone will tell the truth, and some will try to take advantage of an opportunity to cash in on money from the hotel or resort. Security Cameras will be the proof the hotel needs to actually see the event that took place at the time of a slip and fall claim. The DVR/NVR’s hard drive can store up to 2 years of footage, making it more accessible to you.

-How does your Staff Work?-

Just like in any place of business owners often want and need to know how productive their staff is. This also protects the staff from unwarranted, untrue claims that someone may make against your business, once again, it’s all now recorded from the security cameras placed in the hotel/resort.

-Assaults-

Let’s face it, this is not something you often think of when you are traveling on your vacation or even on a business trip, unfortunately, this is something that does happen. Often it is high vacation areas that unwanted guests may try to get into, or near hotel guest and look to rob valuables, and may even cause bodily harm. Here is a cause where security cameras help protect the hotel customer as well as the hotel. It helps to have proof of who and how the person gained access to the location.

-Thefts-

While on vacation, someone stealing is one of the last things people often think of, but once again, it is something that takes place. When we are in the vacation mode we often let out guard down a bit, and leave our bags filled with expensive cell phones, I pads, Wallets, etc. on our beach chair, by the pool. A thief looks at this as a way to make an easy score. Hotels and resorts that have security cameras often deter these crimes from even taking place. Here once again this helps the hotel see if something took place or not to its hotel guest.

-Damage to your Hotel Claims-

This is something, unfortunately, all too many NJ shore hotels face each year, with guests over indulging in the NJ bar scene. Especially in Towns such as Sea Side Heights NJ, Belmar NJ, and Wildwood NJ. All too often, hotel guests overdo it and can potentially cause damage to the hotels they are staying in, or become unruly and authorities need to be called. Often to the hotel owner that does not have security surveillance it’s now a case of he said she said, or relying on other guest testimonials of what took place. Hotels that are now equipped with hotel security cameras now have the proof they need for insurance, and for the authorities
